Mrs. Barakat is the CEO of the Jordan Strategy Forum. Previously she was the founder and managing director of To-Excel Consulting. An innovative boutique company that was established in 2006 to provide evidence-based services in strategic planning, socio-economic development, recovery, and monitoring and evaluation.
Mrs. Barakat has more than 25 years of professional experience in the areas of economic and social development, working with the government, international organizations, civil society, and the private sector in Jordan.
Mrs. Barakat has held significant roles throughout her career, including Minister of Social Development, Minister of Public Sector Development, General Director of the National Aid Fund, City Council Member at the Greater Amman Municipality, and member of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Jordan.
Currently, she serves on the Board of Trustees at the University of Jordan, chairs the Businesswomen’s Committee at the Amman Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the steering committee of the Jordan Impact Investment Board (JIIB).
Mrs. Barakat was awarded the Forbes 200 Most Powerful Arab Women in 2014. She holds an MBA degree from Durham University Business School in the UK and a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the University of Jordan.
Head of the Research Department at the Jordan Strategy Forum, a full professor at the Department of Finance / University of Jordan where he has been since 1991. Ghassan received a BA (Economics) from Essex University. MA from the University of Liverpool, and a Ph.D. in Finance from Brunel University in 1990. During his career, Professor Omet held several posts including Dean of Economics and Dean of Academic Research. He is the author of many peer-reviewed publications and numerous conference papers. His research focuses on pricing and operational efficiency of stock markets, financing of listed and family firms, financial development, and bank performance.
The Head of Communication at the Jordan Strategy Forum, she holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Jordan, Previously, she worked as a project supervisor at Easyinfo, a company specialized in providing technical solutions to serve tourists, in addition to her work in many organizations on managing the communication of its initiatives and projects and organizing conferences and events.
Amani joined the Jordan Strategy Forum team in 2016, and she supervises institutional communication and content development for JSF's various communication channels. In addition to developing the communication and advocacy strategy to promote JSF's role in constructive engagement and dialogue on pressing economic developments and reach out to local and international organizations.
Senior Economic Researcher at the Jordan Strategy Forum (JSF). Ahmad holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Yarmouk University. Mr. Al-Kufahy's experience in research is centered around foreign trade and the industrial sector. Previously, he worked as an economic researcher at the Jordan Chamber of Industry, where he participated in various economic reports, such as the industry section of the State of the Country Report (published by the Economic & Social Council of Jordan), the Industrial Competitiveness Report, and the Jordan Industry Index. Additionally, Ahmad has earned several certificates in economics and industrial studies.
Reem holds a bachelor's degree in English literature from the Arab Open University. Previously, she worked in Regional and Local organizations in the field of management, research and development, Human Resource, project management and fundraising, public relations, and networking.
Administrative and Financial Officer in the Administrative and Financial Affairs Unit and assistant of the Communication Unit. She holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and Banking from Yarmouk University. Previously, she worked as a coordinator for the diploma program at Jadra University and has extensive experience in day-to-day management from her work in several companies.
