The Amman Chamber of Industry and the Jordan Strategy Forum convened a focus group discussion on the opportunities and challenges associated with reducing carbon emissions. The meeting brought together experts and representatives from ministries, government regulatory commissions, the private sector, and academia.

 

The session covered the current state of carbon emissions in the Kingdom, the emission reduction targets committed to in national reports, and their impact on economic growth and the achievement of the Economic Modernization Vision. Participants also discussed recent national developments related to carbon emissions, such as the increasing demand for electric vehicles, the shift towards renewable energy sources as alternatives to traditional energy, the actual contribution of the industrial sector to emissions, and key recommendations within this context.
